The Roots of Pittsburgh

The Roots of Pittsburgh

What makes Pittsburgh, well, Pittsburgh? Explore our city up close and personal with tour guide, Alan Irvine. Walk through the streets of Downtown and discover some of the history, events, and people that shaped Pittsburgh. Learn about the Great Fire of 1845, Mr. Frick’s Revenge, the Wall Street of Pittsburgh, and our first great victory over Cleveland!

Alan reveals the answers to ongoing mysteries like why Sixth Avenue and Seventh Street actually meet and why the Allegheny Courthouse lions lounge so high up in the air. Explore magnificent buildings, uncover quirky public art, discuss the best places to eat, and find answers to some of Pittsburgh’s intrigues.
