Join us in Johnstown, Pa., June 6-9, 2024, for an epic celebration of blacksmithing as the Artist-Blacksmith’s Association of North America celebrates its 50th Anniversary.
Activities in Johnstown’s Central Park are free and open to the public. Watch the International Team Forging Competition as blacksmiths compete for bragging rights and cash prizes. Kids get a glimpse of how hot metal moves with each hammer blow at the clay “forging” activity. The first 100 kids to participate will receive a goody bag. Watch art in action as the Ring Project – a Johnstown-themed collaborative sculpture – will be assembled during the event in preparation for the Art Auction on Saturday night.
Peoples Natural Gas Park (tickets required) offers more fire, more forging, and more fun! Demos include artistic blacksmithing, traditional forging, a look at creating with an induction forge and hydraulic forging press, pattern-welded steel, and multiple educational tents.
