The Pittsburgh region could get hit with 4 inches of snow, just in time for the Wednesday morning commute.
The National Weather Service expects the snow in Pittsburgh to start around 4 a.m., and says the city has a nearly 30 percent chance of getting 4 inches or more.

A winter weather advisory will be in effect for Allegheny County between 1 a.m. Wednesday and noon. In addition to snow, there could be "periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain [that] will cause travel difficulties," according to the advisory.
Pittsburgh Public Works director Mike Gable says it'll likely be snowy during rush hour, with a chance of freezing rain later in the morning, closer to 10 or 11 a.m. He said trucks will be out treating the roads overnight, spraying magnesium chloride and laying down rock salt.
"We're going to have our night turn ... after midnight start to put material down," he said.
Gable said the morning crew will also come in four hours early to help prepare the roads ahead of rush hour.
"It will be challenging for the morning rush hour a little bit," he said. "I would suggest that drivers do not put themselves in a challenge. Try to find a different way to go. Don't necessarily climb hills or go down hills, try to find the most level route possible."
While some may face a dicey commute, the bad weather isn't supposed to last long, with temperatures rising in the afternoon, Gable said. Evening temperatures are expected to be in the mid-40s.
