Mandolin Orange On Mountain Stage

Mandolin Orange make their first appearance on Mountain Stage, recorded live at the Culture Center Theater in Charleston, West Virginia.

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Marlin and violinist Emily Frantz comprise Mandolin Orange. Their effortless instrumentation and breezy, fluid harmonies have helped them win fans in the southeast and beyond. They discovered their love of traditional Appalachian music soon after meeting at a jam session near Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and their sound drew instant comparisons to the Civil Wars, as well as Gillian Welch and David Rawlings. Together, they've released three albums in three years: the self-produced debut Quiet Little Rooms in 2010, Hast Make / Hard Hearted Stranger in 2011, and their latest, This Side of Jordon, which was issued on North Carolina's storied Yep Roc label.
