From Salem to Savannah, there are a number of sites across America that are home to things that go bump in the night. If you're in the mood for a little ghost hunting, travel contributor Elaine Labalme recommends some of her favorite haunts.

Labalme offers a “fab five” of her favorite haunted attractions to visit this time of year. In Gettysburg, PA there are a number of ghost tours as well as the Farnsworth House

Baltimore is home to the Poe House, which celebrates the macabre art of the famous nineteenth-century American author.

If you want to travel a bit farther away, New Orleans is a legendary haunted destination, including chilling attractions like Bloody Mary’s New Orleans Tour.

In New England, there’s Salem, Massachusetts, where you can check out the Salem Night Tour. And Savannah, Georgia boasts a number of haunted civil war features as well as the Mercer Williams House.
