Gross revenue from table games in January was nearly $9.7 million higher than last year, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
962 tables at 10 casinos generated $52,980,494 last month compared to $43,310,753 in January 2011.
Spokesman Doug Harbach said the casinos are still in a stage of growth.
"When they were licensed, all of them stated that it would be 5 years probably until they got a maximum marketing stage for their casinos," said Harbach. "So they're all still within that. So you'll continue to see some uptick in both the slot machine numbers and in table games as the casinos refine their marketing efforts."
In the past year, Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh added 22 table games and made $516,524 more than in January 2011. While The Meadows Racetrack and Casino added 10 tables and generated $337,338 less. The only other casino to experience a decline was Presque Isle Downs, off $418,404.
He said the casinos employ about 15,000 people statewide.
"This is a strong job market in the casino industry, and especially in the table games area," said Harbach. "And we expect that we'll continue to have some very healthy employment numbers also as the casino industry continues to grow."
Pennsylvania taxes table games revenue at 16% , 14% goes to the commonwealth's General Fund and 2% to a local share fund, which resulted in the state making $8,609,347 this January.
