Holidays, Shopping & Thanksgiving (#CantStopWontStop): Social Club November 20

Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week? 2015 is slipping away until it’s gone forever, the winter onslaught arrives and the dark night feels like it arrives earlier and earlier…so HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

WESA’s Josh and Yelp Pittsburgh’s Rachel are here to cheer you up and get you ready for that festive time of year with some amazing events around town.

Let’s kick it off with Light Up Night. There are two celebrations going on- Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership’s 55th Annual Light Up Night and Duquesne Light Santa Spectacular. Come down to Market Square for the grand opening of the European Market. There is also a bigger and more spectacular ice rink this year at PPG Place. You’ll be able to catch Santa and his reindeer and get your #SelfiewithSanta in Santa’s custom workshop. Pittsburgh Symphony is doing a free concert, Friday November 20th at Heinz Hall as well. Basically if you go downtown you will be immersed in Christmas everywhere.

Mad Men and Martinis is happening at the Carnegie Museum of Art this Friday night. Celebrate the opening of “Silver to Steel: The Modern Designs of Peter Muller-Munk.” Come for martinis, snacks and 50s and 60s décor!

Saturday, Crafts and Drafts is happening at East End Brewing Company (for those of you who aren’t looking for something ‘shaken not stirred’).  Come out for the release of SnowMelt Winter Ale and check out different artists at a market as well.

One of our favorite events, The Strip District Holiday Food Truck Roundup is going on this Saturday, November 21st. Come down to the Strip District and try some crazy good food made right here in the ‘burgh.

Soup N’At is happening Sunday, November 22nd at the Union Project. Come down to this cool place, get some delicious soup and take part in helping local artists bring their projects to the masses.

I Made it! for the Holidays! will be at Nova Place, November 27th and 28th. This is one of the largest fairs they have all year. Worried about parking? Don’t sweat it at Nova. Do some Black Friday shopping and get those holiday gifts early. Plus, you are shopping locally. So basically you are amazing.  And food. Did we mention food? They will have tons of that too. Because, let’s be honest, what does everyone want to do after Thanksgiving? Eat.

Remember, no social club next week. Happy Thanksgiving! We hope you have a “gravy” day! (We know, we are hilarious.)
