PITTSBURGH, PA, JAN. 9, 2018—Christopher Capato has been named Director of Finance for Pittsburgh Community Broadcast Corporation (PCBC), owner and operator of public radio stations 90.5 WESA and 91.3 WYEP.
PCBC President and Chief Executive Officer Terry O’Reilly announced the appointment, stating, “After a national search that brought us an array of excellent candidates, we found our next Finance Director right here in Pittsburgh. Chris will play a pivotal role in securing the growth of our nonprofit media organization and sustaining our capacity to inspire, entertain, and serve the people of western Pennsylvania.”
Capato comes to PCBC from A+ Schools, where he has been Director of Operations since 2016. Previously, he served as Fiscal and Operations Director at the Persad Center and CFO of The Midwife Center for Birth & Women’s Health. A native Pittsburgher, he received a Bachelor of Economics from Maryville College in Tennessee. He worked in banking and trust investments with a focus on retirement plans for many years before starting to work in the non-profit sector.
Capato takes up his new responsibilities in mid-January.
