Cities are made up of a collection of neighborhoods with unique features and characteristics. Beginning today, on the first Tuesday of each month, business contributor Rebecca Harris will focus on one of the city’s neighborhoods. Today's focus is on Greenfield.
Bordering the neighborhoods of Oakland, Squirrel Hill, and Hazelwood, Greenfield is home to more than 7,000 residents and has two main business districts: one along Murray Avenue and another along Greenfield Avenue.
Harris explains Greenfield is home to a number of significant businesses, including food destinations like Big Jim’s, which was featured on the Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives”; Rialto’s Pizza and Szmidt’s Old World Deli.
Greenfield, Harris observes, is grounded by community support from the Greenfield Community Association.
