The Port Authority of Allegheny County’s board on Friday approved a new contract that will increase the cost of fares currently paid by the University of Pittsburgh and Chatham University. While university students, faculty, and staff will continue to ride public transit for free, the universities will pay $1.65 per ride. Those fares will go up to nearly $2 per ride over the next five years.
